VALENTINE’S DAY, SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 14; JONES THE FLORIST ENCOURAGING EARLY ORDERING FOR FRIDAY WORKPLACE DELIVERIES; SATURDAY & SUNDAY DELIVERIES

Local Orders Received By Noon February 14, Delivered by 5:00 p.m.

CINCINNATI, OH –February 1, 2010– This year Valentine’s Day falls on a Sunday, which may take many sweethearts by surprise. Nationally according to Society of American Florists data, 83% of florists will be open at least part of the day on Sunday, February 14; locally many florists will be delivering on Valentine’s Day, but will not be open to accept orders that day. Jones the Florist will accept orders for same day local delivery on Sunday, February 14; phone orders received by noon are guaranteed to be delivered locally by 5:00 p.m. on Valentine’s Day.

Jones is also encouraging early phone or online ordering particularly for anyone who wants to surprise their sweetie at their workplace on Friday, February 12. “An overwhelming percentage of people wait until the last minute to order flowers for Valentine’s Day. Since the holiday falls on a Sunday this year, and it’s all about romance and recognizing those that you love, we want to make sure our customers have a positive and memorable experience”, said David Fisher, President, Jones the Florist. “Between February 10 and February 14 we typically fill over 3,500 orders, from the traditional dozen red roses to mixed bouquets to elaborate arrangements, for delivery, pickup, local and national delivery”, Fisher continued. All floral orders, whether they are received via phone, online, or at their Jones and Jack Herb local retail locations are filled by floral designers at Jones’ 30,000 square foot design center in Blue Ash.

Orders for same-day local delivery on Friday, February 12, or Saturday, February 13, must be received by 3:00 p.m. either day.
