TASTE OF BELGIUM TO “SERVE” BELGIAN-INSPIRED CUISINE AT THE CINCINNATI OPEN

Belgian Brasserie Returns To Region’s Premier Tennis Event After Five-Year Hiatus

CINCINNATI, OH – August 8, 2024 — A modern Belgian brasserie that blends Belgian and American cuisines using locally sourced ingredients, Taste of Belgium announces its return to the region’s premier tennis tournament, the Cincinnati Open, August 10-19, 2024, at the Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason, Ohio. Taste of Belgium will join some of the area’s most popular and iconic restaurants, and luxury drink brands with a menu featuring a tournament-only exclusive: Loaded Frites -- a guest favorite not currently available in bistros, as well as refreshing Niçoise Salad and Garden Salad. Taste of Belgium’s authentic Belgian Frites were recently selected as one of the best fries in Cincinnati by readers of Cincinnati Enquirer/Cincinnati.com.

Attendees can also enjoy world-class tennis with the bistro’s signature Waffle & Chicken, Grilled Chicken Belgian Cheese Croquettes and Frites & Chipotle Mayo. For dessert, fans can also choose from Crème Brûlée, Taste of Belgium’s famous Liège-style waffle -- Strawberries & Cream Waffle, French Macarons, and a Waffle 4-pack for tournament snacking or take-home.

During an early-access Community Day on August 10—the day before match play begins—fans can sample menu items from Taste of Belgium and all food vendors at the “Taste of the Tournament” and participate in a number of event activations. Proceeds from Community Day will benefit a variety of local non-profit organizations.

Taste of Belgium has a long-standing partnership with professional sports regionally and is currently a Proud Pub Partner of FC Cincinnati. “The Cincinnati Open provides an opportunity to expand our commitment to introduce diners from the region—and beyond—to the rich flavors of Belgian cuisine,” said Taste of Belgium founder Jean-François Flechet. The Cincinnati Open annually draws over 200,000 fans from all over the United States and across the globe.

Taste of Belgium offers a carefully curated beer list featuring an unequaled selection of Belgian brews and craft cocktails to enhance every meal. In 2023, Jean-François Flechet, our founder, was honored with a knighthood by the prestigious Knighthood of the Brewer's Paddle, recognizing his dedication to Belgian brewing traditions. Our journey began in 2007 at Cincinnati’s historic Findlay Market, where Jean-François introduced a traditional Liège-style waffle recipe and a 120-pound cast-iron waffle maker from Belgium.
