THE CINCINNATI CYCLONES NAMES BEACON ORTHOPAEDICS & SPORTS MEDICINE OFFICIAL TEAM PHYSICIANS

Partnership to Focus on Injury Prevention & Ensuring Athletic Performance Throughout the Hockey Season

CINCINNATI, OH - October 1, 2025 — Beacon Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine has been selected as the Cincinnati Cyclones official team physicians, to provide comprehensive orthopaedic and sports medicine care to players throughout the hockey season. The partnership will be led by Dr. Maria A. Rodenberg and Dr. Marc Lubitz, whose extensive experience in sports-related injuries and personalized care will ensure Cyclones players receive all-inclusive medical support both on and off the ice.

Dr. Rodenberg is a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine, with experience providing care to professional and collegiate athletes. Dr. Lubitz, also fellowship-trained, specializes in shoulder, knee and elbow injuries and has extensive expertise in injury prevention and rehabilitation, helping athletes recover quickly while optimizing long-term performance.

“Our role goes well beyond treating injuries. We are there to support the Cyclones with the care they need to stay healthy and strong. It’s about helping players feel and perform their best all season long,” said Dr. Rodenberg. Dr. Lubitz added, “This partnership combines our passion for sports medicine with our love for the Cincinnati community. We’re looking forward to supporting the players, the coaches and the organization every step of the way.”

Beacon’s relationship with the Cyclones dates back more than three decades. In the early 1990s, Dr. Timothy Kremchek and Beacon established one of their first professional sports partnerships with the Cyclones. That history laid the foundation for Beacon’s growth into a trusted provider for athletes at every level, and today, the renewed partnership reflects both a proud tradition and a commitment to the future.

“We had the privilege of working with the Cyclones when Beacon was just beginning, and it’s incredibly exciting to restore that relationship today,” said Dr. Kremchek. “What makes this moment special is seeing a new generation of sports medicine fellowship-trained physicians, like Dr. Rodenberg and Dr. Lubitz, step into these roles. The players are going to benefit greatly from their expertise, their energy, and their passion for keeping athletes healthy and performing at their best.”

The Cincinnati Cyclones’ 2025 season officially begins on Saturday, October 18 against the Wheeling Nailers. For the full Cyclones schedule, visit https://cycloneshockey.com.
