RED BIKE AND TASTE OF BELGIUM TEAM UP DURING BIKE MONTH

Portion of sales of Taste of Belgium’s Red Velvet Waffles During the Month of May Will Help Support Red Bike

CINCINNATI, Ohio – April 29, 2025 – Red Bike, Cincinnati’s station-based bike share system, and Taste of Belgium are teaming up for their second annual fundraising campaign, launching May 1 to celebrate National Bike Month. Taste of Belgium will contribute a portion of sales from its iconic Red Velvet waffles for the entire month of May to Red Bike. The Taste of Belgium Red Velvet Waffle is a house-made, thick, crunchy waffle with a subtle chocolate flavor and signature red color. Four-packs of Red Velvet Waffles will be available for purchase at all Taste of Belgium Cincinnati locations and online for $13 per pack, with $2 from each sale going directly to Red Bike.

“Red Bike is a vital part of our city, providing an accessible, sustainable transportation option for Cincinnatians and visitors alike,” said Jean-Francois Flechet, Founder of Taste of Belgium. “I am a biking enthusiast, so I’m personally passionate about Red Bike and how they are changing the way people look at bike transportation in the Queen City.”

In addition to waffle sales, there will be events and promotions throughout the month of May including a celebratory event on Thursday, May 8, 2025, 6:30-9:00pm, at Taste of Belgium's Banks bistro featuring New Belgium’s Fat Tire beer, with the chance to win a special edition Fat Tire bike. Red Bike will also have biking demonstrations during the event. Throughout the month-long promotion, each New Belgium beer purchased on tap earns one raffle ticket for a chance to win the bike. The winner will be announced at a celebration on June 3, 2025, at Taste of Belgium's Banks bistro.

On May 16, 2025, Red Bike will partner with the Tri-State Trails’ 16th annual Breakfast on the (Purple People) Bridge; the event is open to everyone -- from rookie riders to leisurely cruisers, and commuters on two wheels – serving complimentary coffee and local breakfast treats.
